They are a bit Slavey. Banned in our house.
Less slavey, more ‘stripping personal information from your phone and eventually selling it on’. They’ve done it before with a different app.

Do not underestimate the power of £££ signs. I don't know what they would typically offer, but if you could get effectively 3-6 months living expenses for promoting them, then I'd imagine the temptation is high.

We can do better than this and it's high time the West came together to flush out our reliable on China and the cheap crap they are showed to send over here. They are basically this generations Nazis but we just let them crack on with it it's crazy.

Anyway thread drift. Misha has probably done something wrong etc.

Pretty sure the reality is if you'd bought that kit in the UK would be that it originated from the same place. e.g. I bought some detailing bits from Ali Express and they are identical to what the big detailing brands here are selling (at 4 times the price). So good luck buying products not made in China.

I like Chris's channel but don't understand why the title said he bought it from TEMU when it appeared he bought it from Ali Express.

I'm guessing TEMU has more click appeal than Ali Express, I watch a lot of wild camping videos and quite often they'll do 'Camping with a TEMU set up' etc for example

Some absolute whoppers on this thread.

Anyway, back on topic, is it biscuits or menswear that Tim's family made it's fortune?

1000% but Temu is never shown, I couldnt even find one on Temu. How ever he shows Ali express a lot and I can find the kit on that.

Am I missing an in joke? Both released at 1800, 2 orange cars, 2 yellow tops, 2 black caps worn back to front.

  • ones on 26k views and the other is exactly a tenth hehe

That has to be some kind of A/B test between them (or a joke maybe)
There's probably some colour theory and clever psychological details implemented into these thumbnails. If both creators work together, then maybe they're trying something - or Chris is implementing knowledge he has obtained from working closely with MA. There was a period on YouTube when orange jumpsuits and grey/black backgrounds got all the clicks!

@JayEmm: Do you have a solid yellow shirt? Worth a try? A/B test? hehe

if you look at the past few months of MA videos he is always in a very brightly coloured top, in contrast to his earlier videos where it was more varied with lots of black tops.

One has to assume the brighter colours stand out more and attract more unsub clicks

I'm in a few creator groups that provide advice and help to other YouTube creators. Someone posted a question based on their channel, and their overall channel aesthetic reminded me of "That Martini Guy", who used to frequent PH. So, I did some digging on TMG ...

Firstly, "That Martini Guy" started out making car content, and from what I can remember, made some "interesting" comments toward Shmee150 and Mr JWW. The thread is here, although I'm pretty sure the comments have been deleted. Some might remember? https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

In the thread, he says that he is more interested in cryptocurrency than car content - and he made the move to cryptocurrency on YouTube. I think I last visited his channel when he had around 20K subscribers. The channel is now at 144K. That said, a few weeks back, he deleted pretty much all of his content; six long form videos and one recent livestream video remain.

It looks as though he now lives in Dubai, owns a company called CryptoSavingExpert, is a professional racing driver, and co-owns Mahiki Racing with a couple of Emira GT4s! Quite the rise!

Watched that the other day, I suspect it is more than a headgasket.

They all do this, all the time, and it annoys me, but it's to do with The Algorithm, apparently.

Just watched the MA GTR rebuild. First time I've watched one of his videos start-to-finish (except for skipping the bloody car vertical bit). Really quite impressed, especially that a 60 quid battery pretty much fixed the entire thing. Also can't believe a better is only 60 quid - it's nearly double that for my ancient Kia 4 banger diesel!

Do like his Porsche in that Rubystone (is it?) colour too.

Most big channels now have access to A/B(/C) thumbnail testing so you upload 3, youtube serves them out and lets you know which is best. The tests usually run for over a week but if you have a clear winner it's good practice to select that then test another 2 closer variants of it alongside the winner.

Alibaba, Huawei, TikTok, and BYD are no different, and I don't see social media personalities ditching or refusing sponsorship from any of these brands. The reality is, if you sponsor or work with any Chinese company, you're most likely contributing to the CCP.

He's done very very very well for himself TMG. Being cynical I just thought he was another talking head doing crypto. Companies house check. My word. Yeah he's done absolutely amazingly well and moved his operation to Dubai I believe due to regulatory reasons. Fair play to him a real success story and a loss to the UK when you saw the absolutely staggering amount of tax his company was contributing.
