Agree with you there. The fuel costs alone to get my Corvette to the 'ring and back, not to mention the cost of the 'ring itself plus fuel used, and then the risk of something happening to the car......all very off putting sadly.
If you can afford to buy and run your Corvette Z06 then you can easily afford a trip to the ring. The issue is actually driving cars such as yours quickly at the ring takes quite a bit of skill, and most drivers (not saying you) don't have any ![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)

Maybe I need to put some hours into the PSVR because whilst no slouch on the track, I'm also no expert either, especially as the Corvette is too loud for UK tracks, so my track driving in it has never been at full chat!

Once again this thread descends into name calling and whining.
Anyway..
New TDC was kind of fun last night. They're certainly getting the most out of the Zafira / Crossfire series. Presumably a Crossfire challenge next week?
It still makes my eye twitch that they're a UK channel using the US version of 'centre'.Anyway..

Back on topic: Mischa is entertaining to watch but I wouldn't want to come across him on track.
I stand by my comment about Up air things though

For those of you wondering where the 996 is, don't worry we haven't forgotten about it! The car was meant to go against Phil on track last week, but unfortunately the gearbox decided to no longer be a gearbox moments before we left for the shoot.
Instead we put together tonight's video with the Zafira at the last moment as we already had the track booked and paid for. We hope you still enjoy it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=olstN...
We also sold the Crossfire, so the money from that will be going to be going into the 996 gearbox fund...

On the subject of crashes, it always surprises me chatting with tyre and vehicle test drivers how infrequent they crash.
These guys probably spend on average 3 days a week driving on the absolute limit (especially the tyre testers) often at proving grounds with very little runoff and you only hear of crashes once every few years. Admittedly half of it is in something like a VW Golf so you're speeds are much lower, but I know plenty of Porsche / AMG drivers who test out at the ring constantly and other tracks like nardo without biffing it.
Obviously those cars are very well maintained and they're not public days which makes it a lot easier not to crash.

Chris is often working with Mat on his channel plus decided to launch his own channel, I find him entertaining to watch.- ones on 26k views and the other is exactly a tenth
Disappointed with what he is doing with the AMG however.
