Agree with you there. The fuel costs alone to get my Corvette to the 'ring and back, not to mention the cost of the 'ring itself plus fuel used, and then the risk of something happening to the car......all very off putting sadly.
If you can afford to buy and run your Corvette Z06 then you can easily afford a trip to the ring. The issue is actually driving cars such as yours quickly at the ring takes quite a bit of skill, and most drivers (not saying you) don't have any biggrin

Yeah, it's a fair point, and the cost of going isn't going to see me sleeping on the streets admittedly, I guess my point was more around the fact that it would indeed be a lot of £££ if I did get there to find it full of bellends driving like pricks putting my car at massive risk. But the post on the previous page does make it sound like those sorts of crowds are easily avoided.

Maybe I need to put some hours into the PSVR because whilst no slouch on the track, I'm also no expert either, especially as the Corvette is too loud for UK tracks, so my track driving in it has never been at full chat!

You don't really need to have logged 100s of VR laps nor be "no slouch on track" to enjoy pottering around the Ring on a tourist session. Just stay right, keep your eyes on the mirror, and take it all in.

Once again this thread descends into name calling and whining.

Anyway..

New TDC was kind of fun last night. They're certainly getting the most out of the Zafira / Crossfire series. Presumably a Crossfire challenge next week?
It still makes my eye twitch that they're a UK channel using the US version of 'centre'.

A few pages ago didnt a poster on here ask Matt Armstrong to PM them so they could have a "private chat" about a milkshake drink that Matt is sponsored by.
fking hell really? rofl
Ill spare them the shame by not naming but here is word for word what was actually posted!:

"Mat - can you confirm if YFood actually tastes any good? I get that you probably can't be negative about it publicly so feel free to pm me if it's naff. I'm just curious, I've never had one of those types of shakes that didn't taste like chalk."
Talking of drinks Air Up hasn’t been seen for a while !
Did you ever have a look at reviews for it? Literally flooded with people basically saying they couldn’t taste anything laugh
All the rage at my kids school. Have you heard someone drinking from them? Could drive a nun to murder.
Sorry no idea we are more about the Stanley cups !
No need to spare my shame and remove my username, I'm the shameless idiot who asked about the Yfood, I also have an Air Up (can confirm it tastes of water and is now in a bin).
Tragic is a bit of a stretch, but I'll settle for "loser".
For context, I'm on site a lot and don't get chance to have lunch so those Yfoods appealed. I just wanted to know how ste they tasted and even got a response so not that daft in my eyes. I've since tried one, it was st so I'll stick to starving myself.

Back on topic: Mischa is entertaining to watch but I wouldn't want to come across him on track.
Good post. Fair play.

I stand by my comment about Up air things though biggrin

According to the latest Community post it's sold!

For those of you wondering where the 996 is, don't worry we haven't forgotten about it! The car was meant to go against Phil on track last week, but unfortunately the gearbox decided to no longer be a gearbox moments before we left for the shoot.

Instead we put together tonight's video with the Zafira at the last moment as we already had the track booked and paid for. We hope you still enjoy it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=olstN...

We also sold the Crossfire, so the money from that will be going to be going into the 996 gearbox fund...

bks to the forum for not letting me format this post better!

Huel is good for this, the milkshakes are nice and the powdered version is good if you don’t mind the lumps!

On the subject of crashes, it always surprises me chatting with tyre and vehicle test drivers how infrequent they crash.

These guys probably spend on average 3 days a week driving on the absolute limit (especially the tyre testers) often at proving grounds with very little runoff and you only hear of crashes once every few years. Admittedly half of it is in something like a VW Golf so you're speeds are much lower, but I know plenty of Porsche / AMG drivers who test out at the ring constantly and other tracks like nardo without biffing it.

Obviously those cars are very well maintained and they're not public days which makes it a lot easier not to crash.

Chris is often working with Mat on his channel plus decided to launch his own channel, I find him entertaining to watch.

Disappointed with what he is doing with the AMG however.

Can’t believe the risk Slix has taken with the body kit he bought from China.

Reminds me of a 996 to 997 conversion kit I bought from China some 15 years ago. It was horrible and didn’t fit at all and I ended up throwing it in the tip.

But I didn’t spend £15k plus taxes on it!

I am stunned anybody does work with Temu - I know most sponsors upset people for one reason or another, but there are some fairly fundamental ethical concerns about that firm

That has to be some kind of A/B test between them (or a joke maybe)
