If it's just him and his dad who are somehow magicing up the ability to take boxes of Italian exotica engine and gearbox parts with bits missing which they've no previous experience of working on, then turning them into reliable running machines they deserve even more respect and appreciation than is being shown on this thread.

I've got over 40 years of spanner wielding experience and sometimes forget how something goes together which I took apart myself a couple of days earlier so to do what they're doing on stuff they've never seen together and working in the first place is nothing short of amazing.

I suspect that they might be getting external technical input in the way of access to technical manuals and procedures which aren't always available via Google and there would be no shame in that.

What is nice to see is that he's moved away from the fake drama that was starting to appear a few months ago - it's just this is what we're doing - sometimes it goes right, sometimes wrong. I thought the centre console thing in the Ferrari was brilliant and top marks for laughing at himself.
people do seem to get a bit over awed about some of this stuff, it is not a hugely complex engine or gearbox, neither was the lambo. some bits probably need a bit of extra understanding but on the ferrari I am pretty sure he was talking to ratarossa and Sam. I rebuilt an R33 Skyline from a shell up, including forged engine etc and people always seemed amazed that I would even consider it - it was just a straight six with a blower on the side. I would be far more intimidated by a modern BMW or Audi 4 cylinder engine these days!

It has been away for paint IIRC - at least the bumpers if not more.
Main body clearly needed paint, particularly around the arches, really noticeable in the shots when the dry ice guys were doing their bit as well as when the wheels were being swapped.

Mat did say in a previous video that it needs a lot of paint, I am guessing the plan is to get it on the road and sort out the bugs, then send it to the paint shop.

Fingers crossed they ditch the fake stripes at the same time.

You may have a good point there.

And thinking more about it - some of the stuff has been a bit ham fisted such as the lambo lights.

The bits that stand out to me was the Lambo oil pump, the engine which had previously been torqued up by fingers and the Ferrari gearbox.

I mean gearboxes are witchcraft and no amount of explaining will ever convince me otherwise, but older engines are generally easy.

Absolutely agree.

I reckon I could strip and re-build an engine easily enough but gearboxes are dark magic and best left to bearded men in silly hats to fix. Auto gearboxes even more so, that's alien technology I'm sure of it!

Love this guy, but the wheels and colour on that 720s are so jarring!

I’m in agreement. I have never / will never understand the fascination with exposed carbon.
Makes it look like the car is crashed damaged and waiting to be painted….

Wait a second…

Looks like something a kid would create in GTA5, not to my taste but that's what modding is all about just doing your own thing.

Curious to find out what's gone wrong with the engine...

Has to be one of the worst looking cars he has built

Test drive did not go well, still wonder how it is going on the road as well, surely it should be on a Q plate

I have thought this in a lot of his other video's. He seems to drive a lot of cars to the wheel shop before theyre finished / have an MOT.
You could see the McLaren was trailered there, but unsure that the drive down the 'private road' was actually private!

I like the blue, not the rest though
He said he was never going to get rid of, so a private plate and no one will ever know

He had an issue during the build where it was pouring out white smoke - seemingly related to lack of use IIRC? Once fully warmed it settles down.

Pound to a penny says it’s that and he’s playing the YouTube game of driving up views.

The smoke on the build up was down to over filling the engine oil due to no dip stick and not knowing the oil level until it’s running as 2 others previously had the same issues he said.

I think it ended on the cliffhanger for views, next episode etc but no idea what that problem was.

I like the colour but the wheels need putting in a skip.

1 million views in around 12 hours, he’s doing something right, hats off to him.

The car in the thumbnail is also different and has much worse damage than his actual car, plus the claim that he sets the car on fire is the cheapest form of clickbait. Compare that to another youtuber who actually set a Ferrari on fire and put it though the shredder and the difference in approach becomes apparent

I do wonder if this time it is more serious as it did not seem to want to drive afterwards also could not see blue in the smoke that suggests oil, if it was clear that suggests head gasket maybe.

A combination of the wheel design (which look like pizza cutters!) and the side skirts mean the side profile looks long and narrow compared to a stock 720s which looks wide and curved.

Either way, roll on the next video clap

The only major part that has been changed has been the tub/chassis hasn't it?

I don't know whether the rest of the car being original is enough to be able to register it with an age related number plate or if it will have to be on a Q plate but if it does go on a Q, he won't be able to have a personalised plate on it which seems a shame as his plates are quite important to his cars.

He used various other SH parts to rebuild it
