I enjoyed the video. The whole done-in-24-hours thing was a little unnecessary, but I guess it's needed for algorithm and/or hype purposes.

The more cars he does, the more one wonders what the outlet for them all is

The Rolls-Royce, RS6 (which seems to have just disappeared) the Merc C63, this GTR - he can't keep them all and doesn't seem to be into raffling them all. Will some just get sold?
I suspect some of them, like with the C63, just have the odd fault needing sorting before he wants to raffle them.

When i saw the GTR thumbnail i gasped with excitement but then saw it was a quick one. Still enjoyable though and didn't miss the dig at the tuner that may or may not have had a hand in it's prep at some point.

Anyway - hopefully Matt hasn't abandoned this thread due to the constant nonsense. If not, how's your appetite for a shell of an e-type that according to co-part will retail at £130k??

The RS6 is at Tavarish's still, you can see it in the background of some of his recent videos

At what point does he need to register it over there? Surely it can't be in Florida on UK plates indefinitely and will need officially imported at some point

Is it not just a collection of pieces of metal until he wants to drive it on the public highway? I'm pretty sure that's how it is in the UK.

Is there import tax? I suppose when the car was shipped over there a bond was posted

Foreign residents can temporarily import a car for up to 12 months. The car has to be exported at the end of the 12 month period and cannot be registered or sold in the US without first being exported and reimported.

Was surprised to see how much he paid for the GTR - £37k for a Cat B with panel damage, a gearbox fault and scuffed wheels when clean cars are available for £55k?

If it was Cat B then it can't go back on the road.

Seems unlikely.

It was not a cat B, I am sure Mat said it was a cat S

I'd guess Cat S.

OK, so still on the register, with panel damage, a gearbox fault, scuffed wheels and from an auction, for £37k vs £55k clean?

It was a Cat S. The replacement door he bought was from a Cat B car, but that is not relevant to his car.

I think the video is super smart… a relatively easy fix with a catchy ‘24h’ tag… helps fill the time while gathering content for a longer update video on one of the big projects.

Even if he sold it and broke even it’s makes no difference. The content value is much higher than the cars value.

I enjoyed it.

1.8M views in the same amount of time it took to almost fix a GTR.

You mean a non-resident.

https://ivssuk.com/temporarily-importing-your-fore...

So actually he can't just leave it there for a year. Its a year or whenever he has left the US, which ever comes first. He left the US.

But if it's just an ornament, then surely registration is irrelevant.
