Great racing again from Dan, those MR2s look brilliant, can take a beating!

I love this channel, it's the best racing I've seen on yt, and it's always funny and chilled in the way it's filmed.

Brilliant stuff.

Imagine caring this much about your brand that you get your panties in a bunch when someone else buys 'your' number plate. Must be very stressful not to have another private plate to mansplain in a video.

Let's just hope Zenvo are still around to buy back this car. Otherwise a second hand P1 is going to look like a much cheaper proposition.

That is my thinking, with selling so few cars is it a business that can survive long term ?

Opened up YouTube this morning and it’s filled with first drives of the new 812. But it’s all from the more old skool media evo, autocar, pistonheads.

But nothing from any of the vloggers

Has the tide changed from influencer marketing and they were not invited? Or did they not want to go? (I know STG has mentioned that he try’s to avoid these launches as he can’t create unique content)
Quite a few manufacturers still do things in a fairly old school way, with priority given to the traditional media.

I've been asking after the SF90 for quite some time, I have a very good working relationship with Ferrari but with that particular car there's a whole host of hoops to jump through and even if I did, there's no guarantee that the car might actually still be available by the time it was my turn. It's not a case of Ferrari saying no, more that there is an order, I'm not at the top, and there's no promise they'll get to everyone.

In the UK, many of the cars on the Ferrari press fleet are not traditionally run for the depths of winter.

I'm guessing more for the "Let's see how fast it goes" crash risk, rather than "Don't want to get it dirty/salty"?

Tim's not stupid, he'll have thought of this and it'll be covered.

Yeah. The F12/812s in particular are the kind of car that struggle enough in the dry for traction, so at winter they just don't bother.

However, they will run much of the rest of the fleet on Winters, They also have probably one of the smallest, but hardest working fleets in the business

He is not stupid no, but he can not insulate himself from risk entirely no business can.

This is one specific risk which can be mitigated though. I highly doubt he's taking uncovered credit risk on a company like Zenvo for a number of years.

So hypothetically then if Zenvo folded what happens, Tim is stuck with a car that would be nearly unsellable

This is true.... even if he offered it up for i dunno 200K who is going to buy a car that can't really be serviced as it is all bespoke.

Can't insulate himself from throwing the toys out the pram either from someone buying a numberplate.

Zenvo lost money in 2019 and 2020 (the latter year is hardly surprising) and is currently supported by its parent company. They had been profitable but a decision to shift the sales and marketing in-house at the beginning of 2019 hasn’t gone well.

Previously the cars had been produced and sold to a foreign sales company that handled all of the sales work while Zenvo concentrated on development and production.

They appointed a new sales director in June, someone who had previously worked for BAC.

The company says its primary source for selling cars is through attending trade fairs and that appears to be a key component of the arrangement they have with Tim.

I just can't get over the fact that the Zenvo makes a feature of that silly active rear wing. I've yet to read or hear anything positive about it or its impact on the cars handling. Added to which there's just so much you could have for that money.

This is peanuts by comparison but I know what I would have.

But if he's got it on a loan (as has been suggested) it would just be taken back as an asset if Zenvo folded? Or have I missed something?

Maybe it will help keep the rear of the DC2 on the track.
