I had 2, and every journey you had one hand with your fingers crossed that no strange noise arose.

The 650 spider does the job of both cars you listed there with zero drama or concerns, and when I moved to a 650, farrr cheaper to run than the 355.
Excellent to hear and nice to hear a positive report on a McLaren from someone who has actually owned one rather than the usual internet "they're unreliable and will bankrupt you" tales from people who have never owned one and are just reporting what they've read on a forum.

Nope. The 355 is a very seductive car, and it took 2 full attempts to ween me off it.

Both were spiders and amongst everything else, both roofs failed causing no end of bother.

Mine was utterly reliable but it didn't have a fiddly roof, in fact I used it daily, never put a foot wrong.

The F355 was/is an iconic car. The first Ferrari built for being used as a car rather than just something to wash on a Sunday before pushing it back into the garage and taking a working car for the lunch run. wink

Only Ferrari I have ever driven (flat out down the main runway at RAF Wittering back in 1997!) and I am still smiling...

That usually meant 'buttresses' issues.

Hey, I loved my 355s when i had them, but no amount of rose could tint my glasses to ever conceive going back to one.

Even 7 years ago parts were either on 'back order' or no longer produced. You really need to be pretty handy with the tools to have one, or it can be a very demanding love affair.

Compromise? A stepping stone to becoming a car company? biggrin

I'm not a Ferrari person but aside from the Dino I always liked the 330 GTC. Is that a usable Ferrari?

It's in Australia, you don't need one there.

Yep, I had mine until 2012 and at that time nearly everything was still available, suspect it is not the case now. To run one now like I did mine you would have to have gargantuan pockets or be a lunatic.

The last bill I had was colossal, but it was all consumables (including F1 clutch...)

Nothing broke in 5 years, went round Europe in it and used it daily in London. Go figure

Has Harry sold his P8? It sounded like he referenced it in past tense when talking about the Carbon bonnet on the Range Rover Sport SV and it didn't seem to be parked in the background.

Still showing as tax and mot current, with no recent V5 issued so maybe away for a service or on loan to a magazine.

Given his history with the P7 and P8, I'd be surprised if he ever sold either of them.

Tbh I doubt very few could tell the difference especially at £11500 a pop. Utter madness
Most Brits would struggle as you don't have summer/winter tires and so you only use one set of wheels, and tend to be quite tribal with their tires too.

Given that each HRE wheel starts at $2500 and they are forged alloy, not magnesium. £11500 incl tires fitted and balanced is not bad.
I am quite happy spending money on a set of decent wheels and tires, maybe a second set with a smaller diameter, width wheel and wetter tire and keep the original wheels in the bags. I am also nice to have a friend as I will bring a set of wheels to you should you get a flat or toast them drifting as my mates did. My overnight exprsss service in Europe is always fun as the RS6 can fit 12 wheels
Yes but the base price already includes wheels and tyres. £11500 for different is taking the piss as I doubt there is that much difference in cost between the original and the upgrade. That goes for all extras.
