Very exciting! Just wish the video also included at least some driving. But oh well, will have to wait a bit for that.

The 650S is a great car, and a great steal. The 12C and the 650S are some of the best supercar bargains at the moment. The price of the options just shows what a complete vanity it is to get a highly specced car. 73k in options, and a few years later they don't even add 20k to the base price. And a lot of them arguably make the car look worse. Overall, though, I think the spec is pretty nice.
Adjusted for inflation, he paid about 30% of the new price. Slightly ironic that he's normally the one who says that all the expensive extra CF on new cars is a complete waste of money and adds nothing practically, and now he's got a car full of it.

There is a reason they are priced how they are. But, if you have a good warranty then its a case of you are getting a lot of car for the money.
Quicker than cars 3x the price. I am sure no matter what happens it will be good content!

My vote is that Harry has purchased that F50 from his friend.
Well, selling the Emira WOULD cover about 2% of that...

I do suspect it's gonna be a modern car... Harry really doesn't have that many in his garage... The GR Yaris, the Project 7+8, the Range Rover... and that's pretty much it. I think the A110 is a decent guess - although he could have bought that even before the Emira. Same with the GTS 4.0.

Either way, I am quite curious now! Quite curious why he sold the Emira too. He seemed to have been quite positive about it - a lot more than me, to be honest!

Actually going to go even bigger and say McLaren Artura

Now most of the kinks have been ironed out and they're good value on the used market. I think I see the appeal of a modern supercar as there's a gap in his garage for something like that
I called that he would get a McLaren but I wouldn't have guessed 650! I guess an MSO 650 is the second best of the analogue McLaren era after the 675LT

I think he has a car full of it because it came with it, it sounds as though he paid a price similar to any other car without it.

Superb, really looking forward to vids from an owner of something that is dangerously within reach.

Same and very similar I would be selling my Lotus Exige 410, not sure I can justify the cost. McLaren has got to be on another level cost wise than what I am used to!

I genuinely thought it was going to be a 720S Spider, even when I first saw the silhouette under the cover.

From one McLaren owner to another, great choice Harry, many happy miles motoring to you, looking forward to the videos.

Absolutely incredible car and for ‘only’ £50k to change, it’s another several levels of car above the Emira.

Seems an utter bargain considering it was a special edition originally.

Assuming however that the car ended up being bought at maybe £110k? That means the Emira was only sold for £60k which seems really low? Have they fallen that far already? I remember not that long ago they were selling for overs.

Emiras are currently depreciating heavily. Someone posted one at 60k on Autotrader recently on the Emira discounts thread so easily into the 5’s come September, I can see why Harry got out.

I guessed Mclaren, compared to the Emira it's in a different league, and I love the Emira.

It's all about price point really, if you love cars, and can afford to be in a Mclaren 650S, then you'd never choose the Emira over it.

The Emira is pretty, but I've seen enough videos on it, to know that it's an improved Evora rather than a genuinely new model. Harry new that too, it's not special enough for his garage, where as the MSO 650S very much is.

You can feel Harry’s excitement!
The way he gets into the detail and explores all the options etc. I do the same but at a much lower budget!
Looking forward to the driving reports.

Excellent choice!

A great bunch at Baytree too. I nearly bought a 981 Spyder from them. I backed out - just being a bit hasty, totally my fault and obviously a bit of a pain for them.

They returned my desposit, no quesitons asked.

That action alone will see me buying a car from them one day. Just a matter of time.

No issues with a car change. I’ve done it enough times like most of us. And what change!

The Emira thing seems odd though.
Almost like Harry as fallen out of love with company and there direction so the car lost its lustre.
Shame really. I’d still love and Emira or Mac.

To be fair he did also preface it by saying after the novelty wore off there weren't many times when it was the obvious car for him to take for a drive. It's not going to get more "Lotus" than his little Elan.

I got the same impression when he was talking about his Lotus “journey”. The McLaren is lovely but I absolutely love the Emira, especially in the colour/spec Harry chose.

I couldn’t afford one myself but I know two former owners of McLarens who said they’d never own another due to abysmal reliability and customer service.

I’ve not had any major issues with my two, customer service however (and as I’ve reported in my readers cars thread) can be just shocking. But there are some great independants out there, Thorney just one.

But when the suns out at 6am on a Sunday morning, there really isn’t anything better out there.

The Alfa Romeos of the supercar/hypercar world as Misha described them!

Just ran an insurance quote, out of interest. Came out cheaper than an M2…
