If anyone wants a palette cleanser that isn't Jaws and is on Netflix, The Shallows is a very good one. More suspenseful and in the Jaws vein than say The Meg or Deep Blue Sea.
You sure about that chief? Can't find it in mine.![](/inc/images/censored.gif)
A bit late to the party, but watching Orange Is The New Black. I cannot remember the last time I've cussed at characters or loathed their traits. It's so well written, funny, and tragic.
I also discovered Midnight Diner - Tokyo Stories and House Of Ninjas.
Rewatching Star Trek Voyager too.

Finished the final season - carries on in the same vein as before and has a fitting end.
The first series was good, but the second one so far after one episode seems to full of Ewoks. I hope it gets better. Finished the final season - carries on in the same vein as before and has a fitting end.

Amazing the details of filming - like how they had stand ins, back doubles, hand doubles, constantly having to redbub (ADR) the speaking, and their own ratings of each episode. they also are quite careful not to criticise too much Paramount... some great guest stars too....
They are currently doing DS9 with (original) Dax - and Quark - again its fascinating listening to them both too..... Terry Farrell is really quite funny and down to earth!

me too - especially when listening to The Delta flyers podcast (free version + paid) is fantastic to back up the Voyager series - even when its now quite old.

I've never listened to their podcast but I was aware of it, thanks for the recommendation I'll give it a listen/watch. Animated sci-fi thing, lots of weirdness. Did well with critics, very strong style to it, apparently similar to Moebius' work but also reminded me of some Japanese stuff.
You had me at Moebius. I will have to watch thisAnimated sci-fi thing, lots of weirdness. Did well with critics, very strong style to it, apparently similar to Moebius' work but also reminded me of some Japanese stuff.
It is all very odd. And intriguing. And I am captivated.
example of Moebius' work for anyone not familiar:

We're re-watching Dexter too - just as good second time around. Nearly at the end of S3 but from memory I'd rank S4 (Trinity killer / John Lithgow) no.1
Also the title sequence (theme and cinematography) is still one of the best of all time.
Just re-watched S4 and it confirmed me in my original thoughts, though of course everyone is different and will like different things. I think S4 is a very good season but I would rank it below S1 & S2. Also the title sequence (theme and cinematography) is still one of the best of all time.
I think people remember Lithgow's awesome performance and the ending but forget some of the flaws in S4.
For starters some of the side plots are simply awful. Secondly it suffers from the frequent problem of Dexter seasons (which 1 & 2 had much less of imo) in the mid season lull. Episodes 5-8 really drag at times, particular when we are with the side characters, and then it explodes into life again with Thanksgiving. Finally the writing is starting to deteriorate, imo, and many of Dexter's actions and motivations are dubious.
On another positive note Jennifer Carpenter really came into her own in S4 and she had become a very good performer in that role, who also carried the show somewhat in later seasons.

Have we had Archive 81 yet?? Ffs!
I suspected that ending quite quickly and when I learned it hadn’t been renewed I should have bailed but noooo….
it was all a f
king dream and took place in the 90s. The last scene had the twin towers still up.
Really?! That's not the ending I remember! I thought it was pretty good and lined itself up with some cliff hangers for a second season I suspected that ending quite quickly and when I learned it hadn’t been renewed I should have bailed but noooo….

It was the only explanation if you take the story at its face value. The whole thing was summarised in the final three scenes. I guess they could have gotten a second season from it but Netflix canned it. Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
