Just sat through (rather than watched) Hit Man on Netflix.

fk me, I'm surprised the real bloke didn't die of torpor.

What a boring film. Way too long and way too ste.

Just for balance, my wife isn't a tt like me, and she thought it was guff too.

We watched it, and based on a review on here a few days ago I had high expectations. It was very very average - easy watching but it didn't really feel like much happened.

Currently watching The 8 Show.
8 people invited into a film set with 8 rooms, where they all have to work together to earn time and money.
Currently on episode 5.
It's a bit slow, but interesting how it explores the human society from those at the top, to those at the bottom. Gets more violent from episode.4!

I want to watch it purely because of Netflix's ad on Twitter which said 'Under Paris - this is going to be In Seine' rofl

Brilliant, I have it on my watch list already after the trailer.
Watched it last night. I was actually pretty good fun if you don't take out too seriously

What were your expectations about a low budget film about a giant killer shark in Paris swimming around eating people?
I tried this last nigh. I love sharks, Jaws is one of my all time faves but I love Deep Blue Sea, The Meg etc etc (even Jaws 3D). Under Paris was woeful. What annoyed me the most was the bait and switch, Netflix marketed this as a film about a Shark getting into the Seine and eating people, but what we got (based on the first half I saw because I switched it off) was some eco-climate change bullst propaganda film about SAVING a Shark!!! I'm not tagging spoiler here because I think it's important to know this.

The first is like they made two films at the same time and edited them together from two totally different perspectives. None of the climate change/ocean plastic stuff makes sense either and has no relevance to a Shark in the Seine.

I may go back and watch the rest but I doubt it. Not enough Shark, not enough people getting eaten by Shark. Too much chat about saving the ocean.

I echo this, it had potential and drastically failed to live up to it.

Summed it up exactly and hopefully saved some people wasting their time.

It could have been brainout fun, and the sudden growing could have helped in that. Starting out eating people and then by the end large enough to attack riverboat cruises. But that didn't happen and instead it was dull and preachy.

Yeah, I dropped this in up thread.

I wouldn't call it slow mind you, at least not with any negative connotation.

Typical Korean in a good way. Highly recommended for fans of the genre.

interesting since I didn't actually find it that preachy - especially WRT saving the shark and the payoff of that is fun. Yes the preachy bit about the Pacific cabbage-patch is there, but I feel it's not a problem (the preaching that is, the cabbage-patch is a massive problem and shows humanity can be bunch of s)

Perhaps I need to actually finish it then, I was just massively disappointed with the first hour.

(don't disagree on the fact that ocean pollution is a massive problem, just such a weird thing to have in it IMO but perhaps I had specific expectations of the film)

don't misunderstand me - the film really is st, it's just I viewed it as such and in that vein enjoyed it

A documentary about the Pacific garbage patch would be worthwhile.

All I wanted from this movie is maybe a quick ten second speech somewhere about stop littering or a massive shark will eat you

Oh don't worry I went in with the lowest of expectations rofl

If anyone wants a palette cleanser that isn't Jaws and is on Netflix, The Shallows is a very good one. More suspenseful and in the Jaws vein than say The Meg or Deep Blue Sea.

Dancing for the Devil.

Some young Tik Tok dancers join 7M, a management company that turns out to be a cult that separates them from their families and steals all their money.

Somehow they managed to drag this out to three episodes over three hours with no real conclusion.

Do not waste your time.

Hidden Strike. Actioner with Jackie Chan and John Cena. Mercenaries v Chinese special forces. Should’ve stayed hidden tbh. Brain out viewing. Still not sure what it’s about

What any Jackie Chan is about - awesome fight scenes without stunt doubles. biggrin

(Not seen this particular film; just making a generalised comment for comedic effect)
