Heads up for Godzilla Minus One https://www.netflix.com/gb/title/81767635?s=a&...
Can't believe they dropped this with no fanfare or anything, didn't even show in the new section for me I had to search for it! Glad it's on there though, amazing film.
I fell asleep for 30 minutes in the middle of Atlas, which was definitely a better use of my time.
Really enjoyed that - had no idea what to expect. Certainly didn't disappoint.

As I understand it, it's a film that examines the Japanese post-war national PTSD and national trauma to do with nuclear weapons, that just happens to involve Godzilla. Just like how Terry Pratchett books were social commentary and satire that just happened to be framed within a Fantasy genre. Really enjoyed that - had no idea what to expect. Certainly didn't disappoint.
I plan to watch it soon. Might watch it tonight in fact. We shall see.

As said above, it felt like a socio/political commentary that also just happened to have a mahoosive nuclear lizard in it.
I'm very late to the game trying to watch Cursed - in theory I should love it: Arthur; myths & legends; magic... exactly my nosebag. I even can cope with a fair chunk of YA drama drivel that contains this (Percy Jackson; Winx; etc) and yet I've struggled to the point that I've had to jack it in. The acting in many cases seems the level of AmDram, men seem to be (by and large) cruel/untrustworthy/stupid/etc. The diversity aspect is strange given the milieu, though at this point it strikes me that the saving grace of this series is Arthur himself.
