Just over thinking the 'who was driving' thing, surely due to the force of the impact being head first the driver & passenger will have corresponding bruises from their seatbelt about who was sitting where?
I believe one of the episodes of Crash Detectives (BBC2 iPlayer) featured a similar situation and they were able to tell who was driving from the DNA on the steering wheel The other thing with the accident was that it was evidently a hard enough impact and plough through that stone wall to kill Heath (not wearing belt) in the back, but yet not hard enough an impact to fire any of the airbags in the car including the steering wheel. Plus given all the parties had extracted themselves they 1) see whose dna / prints are on the steering wheel 2) check the seat position to the pedals to get the height (given Angel appears taller than Cathy), etc, etc.
Then again this is a soap so expect all proceedure to be thrown out just like how they cleared the Mack, Chloe, Harry, Charity situation in a day over Christmas.

that Porsche has a sorry MOT history and is currently SORN and no MOT.
Thanks so much for that — the uncertainty and stress was spoiling my enjoyment of the show.Apart from having a longstanding crush on Claire King

Writers once again doing the usual thing of forgetting (ignoring) a characters past to suit a narrative.
Does anyone really believe that Jimmy, who himself had a serious accident with a vehicle that killed someone only a few years ago and ended up struggling to come to terms with what happened, would now be the one helping to set up the current plotline to cover everything up for his own daughter when the previous weeks writers had Nicola pushing that angle.
Similar has happened with the Rhona storyline - one minute Marlon is fully against the whole thing, then a couple of days later the writers have him as being perfectly fine with it all now, no problems at all, including looking after the kid as often as he could. Now we have Rhona trying to cover and make up lies to get Gus to stay away - my guess this will end badly with him coming back and Rhona probably trying to go on the run with the kid.
