Righty oh chaps and chapesess

Earlier today sent a mail to these people

www.devere-hotels.com

They have been very encourageing to talk to indeed.

The hotel is the Herons Reach in Blackpool and seems to tick all the boxes so far.

I gave them a run down of past events and they seemed fine with it, the guy i was speaking to said he would even be looking forward to the loudest wedge competion!!!

They have spoken very openly and have told me that in the past they have held similar events and by the sounds of it people have stayed there who were involved in the Home Coming Events.

They spoke of a 500 space car park that could be cordened off for us , they where fine with Rolling Road Shoot out, Vendor Stalls and giving us use of a funtion room for the evening.

Food for the evening could be a sit down slap up or a BBQ or a Hog Roast like last year.

The events guy Tony is going to go over some numbers the weekend and give me a buzz on Monday.

Sunday could include that run down the Golden Mile for them once in a lifetime Photographs.

What do you reckon?

Rob

That is a nice hotel and there are many other goods ones around St Annes. If that's where we go people may want to look at the Dalmeny and the Inn on the Park in St Annes as places to stop as well (unless De Vere can cope with everyone and are competetive).

The Dalmeny breakfast is the best I've ever had in a few hundred nights in hotels (not a great car park for TVRs, but they are loud in the underground part muhahaha!

When i spoke them earlier today i mentioned that over the years Ettington had gave us a good deal at around £60 to £65 per room b&b and they were not fazed so watch this space.

Sounds like a good venue Rob, lets see what rates they want to charge us and if the poll stays the way it is, then it could be a great option.

Looks like a good venue Rob. It's be good to have an overnight at the spiritual home of TVR.

It'd be ideal for a Chimp' drivers tea party as well, having it's own golf course wink

If that's the one on the sea-front that was used to host Back Home about 10 years ago, I hope the catering has improved. Sunday lunch was staff-canteen lasagne slopped in desultory fashion by disinterested staff onto a plate and served with cold stodgy chips, £15 a head for the dubious privilege.
Not only that but the drinks were astronomical: pint of bitter (weak and watery) and a small glass of house wine, no change from a fiver. Ten years ago? Twelve?

Still, I got to rap with Trevor and even had a brief yak with Chris Tierney as he ransacked his Turbo for a stray sock or something... hehe

Dinner party guys!!!

Just spent an effing fortune on a new kitchen and the missus has invited half of the north east to view it.

The dish washer has just put a sick note in.

Must be the time of year ours broke a couple of weeks back and let me say the "novelty" of washing up soon wore off so my sympathies are with you !

+ cleaning engine parts by hand is a right pain in't arse biglaugh

IIRC there was a TVRCC event here 4 or 5 years ago. Could have been back home? It was a great venue. Typically of large hotel chains the drinks may be a bit pricey but which ever venue you choose I think you will find this is the case.
