Due to there being many seperate marque meets organised Griff Growl,S club Heaven,Big Bad wedge fest The Roar etc along with The BNG, Celtic Gathering etc and some of them forums becoming rather messy with all the stickies I am possing the question to you all whether you think it would be better that we had one forum to put all these into?
It would be nice if they could stay in each individual Forum but last year we nearly had half a page of Stickies in the Griffith forum and a just as many in some of the others.

So what ya all think?

What would be nice would be a simple list of events in date order which you could click on to go to the thread for that event. In that way I could quickly see if there was a drive or something I fancied joining and then delve deeper to see the details. p.s. All events, not just Griff stuff

Why not. It started as a TVR based website and has lost it's way a little in that respect.

A great idea. I can't possibly think of a good reason not to have a forum like that on here.

Yes please! Always have to post in the general TVR forum for the Herts and Beds run-in info. The thread very quickly goes off the page frown

Yes please, it's one of the main reasons I am getting a TVR - to get out there and cruise with like minded nutters

The TVRCC web site is having a new events section with links from the event listing to the thread

That appears what you are suggesting?

I agree as I run several North Wales TVR runs a year and I end up posting all over the place.

A good idea, but is the aim to make it easier for those interested to find the information, or to keep the individual fora tidy, and reduce bandwidth use?

I ask because in my experience, posting an event in the General TVR stuff & Gossip forum usually generates repeat posts in the model-specific fora pointing to the main one.

I'm not sure if an events thread would necessarily avoid all of the duplication, but it will provide an area where all events are listed.

I alos like the idea of being able to sort the events by date, so that you can see at a glance what is happening tomorrow/this week/next week etc.

If babdwidth is not an issue, it seems daft not to give it a try.

Some people don't specifically look for events...... but happen across them in the forums they go to and think that would be a good idea nice day out.

Could possibly loose these if in a different forum....

Not knocking the idea as I think its great...... but have to look at the negative/might happen as well

I would simply add the new forum to my 'preferences', so it would come up whenever I logged on, along with the other 5 or 6 that I now look at.

A good idea I reckon. smile

There is an events/meetings forum already but must admit I rarely look in there.

Yes.
Ive used the general forum to promote a TVR class at York raceway this April 12th.
Ive also done this on the TVRCC forums and have different people from both forums interested. Obviously events need to be advertised on pistonheads as the event is for all TVR owners and fans alike.

No - it actually weakens the main TVR forum .. there are few enough posts on here as it is.. frown
