TVRCC 2021 Closing Event

Introduction

Following discussions with the TVRCC events team, I am pleased to announce that the
seasonal closing event for 2021 will be held on Oct 1-3 (2021) at the Ufford Park hotel in
Woodbridge, Suffolk.

https://www.uffordpark.co.uk

The event will take place over the weekend from Friday through to Sunday with events being
planned for each day.

Event Details

The full details of the event - due to the... fun of CoVid19 - have still to be fully worked out, but will
probably look something like this: -

Friday
  • Arrival & checkin
  • Drive out
  • BBQ
Saturday
  • Breakfast
  • Free-time
  • Fish'n'chip run out for lunch
  • Afternoon event
  • Evening meal/event
Sunday
  • Breakfast
  • Morning event + lunch
  • Afternoon event
  • Leave
Possible events include: -
  • Brewery tour (selection of local breweries to tour around)
  • Rolling road
  • Museum tour
  • Saxon village
  • RAF site visit
  • Run-out of the local area

Event Booking Details

The hotel that we will be running the event at is based in Woodbridge, Suffolk and is a purpose
built modern hotel set in rolling countryside just outside of Woodbridge.

It has a purpose built spa, golf course, crazy golf and driving range for those who like golf as well
as the other usual gym, bars, restaurants plus other accompaniments.

Rooms rates will be as follows: -
  • £30 non-refundable deposit for the event
  • Classic Double or Twin - £170/night (DBB rate - 3 course dinner, bed & breakfast) - 2 occupants
  • Classic bedroom - £130/night (DBB rate - 3 course dinner, bed & breakfast) - Single occupant
Dining will be in a private room for both nights.

Upgrade rates are available if you want to stay in a higher-class room: -
  • Deluxe Double an extra £20 per room, per night
  • Deluxe Superior an extra £45 per room, per night
  • and a Premier Room at an extra £60 per room, per night.
But to be honest, the classic rooms are very nice as is. They also come with a balcony from memory

Rates include access to access to the indoor swimming pool, pool side sauna, steam room and
spa bath, plus 20% off 1 hour body treatment.

Examples from the hotel...

Dogs are welcome to the event and the hotel.

Discounts are also available for golfing (if anyone wants them).

Booking needs to be done directly with the hotel - quote reference "TVRCC".

Reservations can be made by either: -
  • Calling the reservation team on 01394 383555 ext 199, 200 or 416
  • or via e-mail at reservations@uffordpark.co.uk
Once booked, please let the office know as well.

Thanks!

Nothing between now and the closing event? Seems odd to list your closing event first?

I presume too early to sort out the opening 2021 event, it is only a month or so since our 2020 Cobweb run.

^^^^^^ This - it takes months of work to sort out these events, and venues that are big enough to hold us all need to be booked up well in advance.
Even the little London tunnel runs, a couple of which I organised back in the dim distant past, were four to six months in the planning, sorting routes and start/finish venues.

Thanks, Alex, for talking the trouble both to organise this event and to inform us all well in advance.

Yes, as mentioned these events tend to have a very long lead time to arrange.

In addition, since nothing has happened this year, it was felt to get the bookings done well in advance
as venues are very likely to get swamped next year - assuming things return to a semblance of normality

Appreciate things take time, just thought it odd to have a closing event at the end of 2021 before anything else is organised or even rumoured
confused

Just say I'm just ahead of the game when compared to other events and leave it at that biggrin

I for one very much doubt we will be clear of COVID by April, sadly

Hi folks

For those coming to this event, could you please indicate if you are wanting to do the brewery (or other) tour event on the Sunday afternoon.

We are looking to get the event booked, but need an indication of who wants to come.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, I'm not sure I will be free for the entire weekend for this event.

I'm not far away from the venue though (Norfolk).

Is there an option to drive down for the day, meet up and join in some of the drives, or do you have to book the full package?

Hi! No, you can come for parts of it - like the drive.

Unfortunately, not enough people seemed to be interested in the brewery visit, so that has now been
dropped.
