I haven't done a completely exhaustive search, but has anyone organised a run out or two for the Saturday before Burghley?
I am not expecting anyone to do one, but if nobody has, and there is a demand, I will take it on.
If someone else is organising one, then i will get off their toes and ask what time it starts and from where?

I have read that there are details on the TVRCC website, but having followed the link and I cannot see them.
I suspect the run(s) are the same as last year, same time and same route, but have no way of knowing.
I can only assume it is being organised by Westminster........ last minute and without much sense of direction.

First run is at 11am and the second is at 2pm. I'm hoping to make the 2pm run, after a 3hr run to get there.

...got info too late..however dropped in on the off chance...about 5 cars went on 2pm run - very poor turn out - presumably because of lack of published info..

I asked Northants Club chiefs and they seemed to know nothing about it - used to be really good....lets see what tomorrow brings up at house..

There were around 60 last year. Just shows the effect of a virtual total lack of publicity.
And that will deter the organisers from doing it again.

Apparently there was a mention on the TVRCC website, though when I tried the link, it didn't work and i said so on the forum where it was published.
One day the TVRCC will realise that not a lot of people actually visit the TVRCC website, and will turn to Facebook, or at least Pistonheads, to publicise things like this.
I had intended to go on it, but with no certainty that it was running I saved the tank of fuel and did put the effort into getting my daily driver running properly.

Although I wouldn't have been able to make it this year anyway, given the poor turnout and probable reasons given we could always organise our own for next year!

It's a pity the numbers are down this year, I've attended the last two years and done both runs each time but this year the Griff is still on axle stands and the gearbox on the bench; didn't fancy chasing the pack in the Passat estate!

It's a cracking run out, if it's on again next year I'll be there

I imagine the poor organiser was far from amused, but it is entirely down to the complete lack of any meaningful publicity weeks in advance.
I suspect it was Ian Longden for the Rutland Rumble. I will see if i can contact him and see how he feels about it.

If he wants to continue, then I will make it my job to publicise it next year.

If he has had enough of it all, then I am happy to get together with you, Richard, and help organise it.
The last thing I organised was Thunder in the Tunnels twice in 2013 or 2014 (cannot remember which it was now), so it is about time I got the Ordnance Survey out and plotted a route again. driving

A lot of us arrived, with the roof firmly on, between 9.30 and 11.00, in my case just before 10.00.
But it wasn't the warmest of days and by about 12.30 I had had enough and called it a day.
I guess it is the time of year, but after all that lovely weather we had in February it is a shame we are getting so much of the cold winds in April.
There will be a frost here the next 4 nights......
Roll on summer.
