Hello Graham, Colin told me about this the other day. Considering bringing a trade stand (will contact you directly about this) but also wondered if there is public access to the track on Sunday? I know there is racing on Monday but would love to take our Chimaera on track on the Sunday if possible.
This is all it says on the car club website for Sunday and Monday:
Sun 5th May - Mon 6th
directions
Mayday-Madness-web-rgbSave this date - full details to follow in March Sprint
Full day of racing at Castle Combe featuring TVRs Tuscans, Historic & Dunlop Challenge
Sunday evening Dinner/Dance at Marriott Swindon - full details to follow
I've called the club and they don't know if the traders are there both days, but someone is calling me back later today when they know the answer. the website seems to suggest there's racing Sunday and Monday but I thought it was just the Monday.
Hopefully SOMEONE knows what's happening and will call me back then I can tell you what I've found out

Just heard back from the car club office ..
sadly the trade stands are only there on the Sunday , so if you want to see the trade stands AND see the racing you have to be there for 2 days .. seems like a massive own goal .. why not all on the same day? Must be a reason, but I guess like many others - trying to justify 2 days away over a bank holiday weekend just isn't possible.

It's looks like a full meet with many classes, plus the TVRs so paddock will be busy: May Day Madness.
Looking forward to it - there were some great races for Howard's Day a couple of days ago. I suspect the Noble will walk the GT race again but it's fun watching the midfield squabble. The Formula Fords are close again this year too.

Well. If its Sunday as well then there will be Tuscans and a Chim missing as some of us are taking in the CSCC @ Silverstone on the Sunday before shooting over to CC for the Monday racing.Sun 5th May - Mon 6th

Yes, I thought I'd read somewhere about "trade stands", was expecting more than TVRCC regalia and some jewellery!
ETA... Oh yes, a few posts up

I guess they just don't see it as financially viable to attend?Edited by phillpot on Tuesday 7th May 09:08
Monday was good, 100+(?) TVRs in the carpark, mainly Ss, Griffs, Chims, Cerbs and Tuscans (including a couple of road-going ex-Challenge cars) older cars notable by their absence but apparently there were other TVR events elsewhere. Rain stayed away but it was a tad chilly at some parts of the circuit.
Some good racing despite the disappointingly high rate of attrition in the Tuscan Challenge... !
Star of the day was surely Mike Saunders in his newly straightened yellow Cerb... two 2nd places from his first two starts in an only just rebuilt car is astonishing testament to the father & son team.
And thanks to the TVRCC team for making us welcome.

I think some real praise should be aimed towards the commentators on Monday. They did a great job of keeping some kind of commentary going with only 3 tvr race cars left on the track.
What about those Mitsubishi shopping carts though!! 1.5 litres, 450 bhp !!!!!! and reliable as clockwork. Well done Norris. Those and the GTR trouncing everything, plus the first genuinely exciting FF race I've seen despite limited overtaking nearly saved the day.
