Welcome to the second of the TVR “Noughties" Weekends!

What is the Noughties weekend?

The TVR Noughties (“00") weekend (and no, that is not the TVR naughty weekend!) is a weekend to
bring together and celebrate all the marks of TVRs that were designed and made in the last
decade of the Wheeler era - mostly 1999-2006.

It takes place in the beautiful and centrally located Wroxall Abbey Estate in Warwickshire and
features an entire weekend of TVR (and non-TVR) events, run-outs and a special visit down to
Topcats Racing (just outside of Aylesbury) for a day of TVR related fun.

And the weekend is not just for TVR enthusiasts! For those of us just interested in a great weekend
out - Wroxall Abbey features a fantastic spa, sauna and health club where you can just
relax away the entire weekend with massages, walks, swimming or just plain sleeping around -
whatever you like!

Where is the event based?

The event will be based at Wroxall Abbey Estate in Warwickshire.

Wroxall Abbey Hotel & Estate
Birmingham Road
Wroxall
Warwickshire, CV35 7NB
http://www.wroxall.com

You will have the run of a 27 acre estate with spa, tennis, pools and sports club facilities.

There are massages, beauty treatments and heated pools to help you relax or just
idle the weekend away.

A sample video of the hotel can be found here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCVQmm_coO8

What is happening during the weekend?

Here is a quick summary of the planned events for the weekend. The exact details are still
being finalised, but will be updated as soon as they are.

Arrival Friday 22nd Sept & Check-in
Arriving on the Friday afternoon or evening, you will be free to check-in and decide on what you
want to do before dinner. If enough people arrive early and the weather is good, then there will
be the opportunity for a run-out before dinner around the backroads of Warwickshire on a special
route prepared by the hotel with cars in mind.

Dinner will start at about 1930-2000 and will comprise of a BBQ on the terrace with dessert.

After dinner, much talking and (moderate - of course!) drinks consumption will take place.

Saturday 23rd Sept
There are two main strands of events that will be running on the Saturday. The first is for those who
are more petrolhead orientated and like to see power machines at play, whilst the second is for those
who prefer a more sedate day out.

Event track 1
At about 0930-0945 there will be a run-out down to Topcats Racing just outside of Aylesbury for a specially
reserved day out where the focus will be on TVRs, Marcoses, Racing cars and other assorted exotica. Ramps
will be available throughout the day for inspections as will food, coffee, detailers, various trader stalls and
a dyno-ramp (TBC). There will also be various unique TVRs on display and other items yet to be confirmed.

Various technical talks on engines and racing is also being lined up including: -
  • Engine conversions to LS (detailed walkthrough)
  • Racing talks
  • ...and others!
Topcat specialists will be on hand all day to offer advice or inspections as needed.

A concourse event will also be run through out the day with prizes going to 3 of the best cars on the day.

The event will run till about 1300 or so, then we will do a lazy run back to Wroxall for the evening event.

Event track 2
For those not interested in cars or who just want a nice relaxing day, then all the facilities at Wroxall will be
available for your use. See here for more information.

http://www.wroxall.com/spa-club/

There will be other events available, but these are still being arranged, so please expect an update nearer
the time.

Afternoon
After about 1300, we will head over to the Coventry Transport Museum for the rest of the afternoon. I will
arrange a guided tour and parking. Cost of the package TBC

Evening
Once everyone is back from the day, then we will have a 3 course dinner at about 1830 with a charity
auction and drinks afterwards.

Sunday 24th Sept
The schedule for Sunday is still being arranged.

How much does it cost?

The cost for the event is as follows:-

  • Friday night - £85 B&B single occupancy or £95 B&B double occupancy + £21.50 pp for the BBQ dinner

Hi all!

We still have quite a few rooms available for this event! They must be booked by the end of the month or
that is it.

Details are above - you have to book with Wroxall directly - not via their website.

Thanks!

Oops, have been on holiday for a couple of weeks and only just saw this post! I'd been holding off booking as I'm having a bit of work done on the Tuscan in September, and wanted to be sure that it will be ready in time for the noughties meet. Luckily Wroxall do still have a few rooms available, albeit only in the separate Court building. I've just booked my room for Saturday night - can't make it on the Friday unfortunately due to work and pool commitments, but I'll come up to Wroxall first thing on Saturday morning and join everyone for the run-out to Topcats, same as last year.

Looking forward to it, thanks for organising Alex beer

I was hoping to make it to the hotel in time for the run-out tomorrow morning, but on second thoughts I think I'll just meet you guys at Topcats and take an extra couple of hours in bed... sleep Looking forward to it!
