TVRCC Season Opener 2017
Discussion
If anyone fancies more fun that weekend, particularly if you are either local or spending Saturday night in a hotel, there are a couple of drives out on the Saturday.
Last year one started from Colsterworth Services on the A1 (12 miles north of Burghley) at 12 noon and headed east, the other started from a pub (always a good sign IMHO) on the A43, close to the A47 junction, therefore about 7-10 miles from Burghley and Peterborough, at 2 pm and did a loop around the Rutland area.
Good couple of hours spirited driving while obeying all the village speed limits, great selection of cars.

Looking forward to it too. There were over 400 cars there last year I seem to remember, a great day out.
I will be travelling up from Cambridge area so would be great to hook up with some other cars on the way...
I'm undecided yet whether to go or not, was a good day last year and the weather was spot on, will let you know. I will be travelling up from Cambridge area so would be great to hook up with some other cars on the way...

Anyone got any more info on the drives out? There doesn't seem to be any threads on them anywhere. We went on the Rutland drive out a couple of years ago and my son and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Well did not think we would still be here for this event but as the move fell through looks like we will be so will pop over of course it will not be in a TVR as still not in a position to purchase one so will probably be in the MGF that is assuming there is not problem when I break her out of hibernation. if that happenes I suppose it will have to be the daily driver .......................... the Rocer 75 CDT.

The only downside is that the venue/organisers charge more for entry in a non-TVR. But you will get to see 500+ TVRs of all vintages, from the late 1950s to the late 2000s, so well worth the money. And you can discuss the cars with those who know about them.

Also is it tickets on the day or is there an advanced discount?
Just joined the club and not got access to the events page until my details come in the post.

Just turn up at Burghley House, Stamford, any time after about 0930 on Sunday. There is no advance discount, it's just a fiver per car. Your car will be part of the show - there have been over five hundred TVRs there every year of this show. So you can easily hide!
There will doubtless be a time line in the circle in front of the house, with examples of every model from Grantura to Sagaris, with some specials perhaps along - the white elephant, a racing SEAC etc.
There will be some trade stands , a local food event, and you can get discounted tickets to go around the house and gardens. See the events link below for events on. Good day for you and Erin Dawes....and the kids if you have a Cerbera.
One word of advice - dress one layer warmer than you would for the weather forecast. The grounds are rather open, so if there is any breeze you and Erin Dawes will get chilled quite quickly. If you do, adjourn to the food fair for a hot pulled wild boar roll.
