Social drive - Leicestershire - Tues 29th December at 11:30
Discussion
The weather for Tuesday afternoon is apparently going to be sunny and 10 degrees - too good to waste at this time of year. For those lucky enough to have time off work, retired, or need an excuse to take time off work etc, does anyone fancy joining me for a TVR gathering and social drive.
Planning it to be about 60 miles ish in total.
Sorry for the short notice, but who thought the weather would be this good....
The starting point is Leicester North Services on the junction of the A6 and A46 north of Birstall (not the M1 Leicester Forest East Services near J21). The services have Shell petrol with V-Power if required, please fill up as you arrive if you need to as there is unlikely to be other petrol on route. Please gather in the car park at the rear of the services. I will be there from around 11:00 There are toilets, food and drink available at the services.
The planned departure time from the services is 11:30.
I have a few routes in mind and will try and find a cafe open for us to stop at before returning a different route back to the starting point. I will provide route instructions on here as soon as I have them sorted and if you could print your own it would be a massive help. If you are NOT able to print the route, simply add the word PRINT after your name on the list below and I will print a set for you.
Add your name to list below to let me know I will not be Billy-No-Mates and it is worth me putting a route together.

Unfortunately can't make it, taking the S for MOT, but hope you have a good day.
Might "pop over" to Shelsley Walsh on New Years day if weather stays good?
Run is back on. See you all at the services as planned.
Route on here later. It is about 65 miles.

Thanks to Smokey Boyer for devising a really good route, 5 Tvr's roaring about popping and banging, Martyn's Tuscan absolutely lovely, Scott's Tamora about the same, I enjoyed being behind both cars at different times, the over run on both cars had me in stitches, and they sound like racing DType Jags, marvellous cars,,, then to the Three Chimaeras,,,
Well we all know how good they are,,,
Thanks Jeremy,, that's my first convoy of angry Tvr's, it's also the first time since I had my Ecu upgrade that I've actually nailed the throttle,,,, yeeee haaaaa, well pleased with my cars power and with old rear tyres on country lanes, wheel spinning in third and forth gears,,,,

bugger! why did I not see this! went for a drive out today as I was bored and was rubbish!
If I had known you were back from the land of the flying wok I would have been in touch. We had 14.5 litres of Chimaera, a Tuscan and a Tamora. Good run, sure we will be doing another soon
Glad everyone enjoyed it. Cracking weather for December. As ever I forgot to take any photos - did anyone else get any? Can we get any stills or video uploaded from the go-pro that was being used today?
Sorry that some of the whites were a little muddy, and that lump on the road through the farm park just after the cattle grid was not there last time I went down that road. Hope nobody suffered any major damage.
I have loads more brilliant roads I know in and around Leicestershire and the surrounding areas that we can have a blast down. All knowledge from my years as a rally navigator doing road rallying for several years, before I moved on to national stage rallying. Some of the best roads are unfortunately now speed restricted or are so rough that a TVR would not survive if driven at anything more than walking speed.
Happy to organise another run soon and already have one in mind that starts from Tugby on the A47 and heads over towards Uppingham and Market Harborough. I will try and give people a little bit more notice next time and hope we can get a few more people out.
