Hi folks

As mentioned earlier, I have been looking into arranging a TVR group visit to the
Brooklands Museum and Mercedes World, both which are on the same site.

Brooklands needs no introduction. The museum has a wide range of both
classic racing cars, planes, buses and all sorts of other racing history. The full
details of which can be found here…

http://www.brooklandsmuseum.com/index.php?

Mercedes World is more of a specialist museum focusing on Mercedes history
and racing. There is also the opportunity to book track experiences or skid pan
events if you so choose. Details can be found here…

http://www2.mercedes-benz.co.uk/content/unitedking...

I would need a minimum of 15 people to progress this event forward.

This would also only be open to TVRCC members, but any region is welcome!

Just seeing about interest at the moment, if I get 15+ people interested, then I
will look at planning something - probably in Sept or October.

Thanks!

Hi folks

Okay, just spoke with Brooklands and they have the following dates available. I need to know asap which dates
people can do and I'll go with the biggest set.

Unfortunately, they are as busy as heck over the next few months, but they can book us in as a group with reserved
parking etc. for the next dates.

The package would be...
  • On-site parking/reserved
  • Discounted entry fee - how much will depend on how many come, but as it is only a few quid here and there about £10
  • Standard entry into the museum
Extras like...
  • Concorde visit
  • F1 simulator
  • 4D cinema
...you'll need to fund yourself.

I enquired about bank parking/photos, but costs too much so I did not opt for it.

Dates available are... (all Saturdays)
  • 19th Sept
  • 26th Sept
  • 3rd Oct
  • 10th Oct
  • 17th Oct
  • 24th Oct
If you are still interested, please put your name down with dates you can make - the more, the better.

Once I know dates, I'll book and try and get us a guided tour setup for the Mercedes World.

Thanks!

Hi everyone

This event is now booked for the 10th of October (majority
of people saying they are available).

I have secured us parking in the paddock and a small
group discount off the normal entry price (assuming no
one drops out).

Please watch this space for any more information.

Thanks!

Is anyone interested in the Concorde experience at £3-5 extra?

We would need about 15 ppl interested to book it.

Hi Alex
I've already done the concorde experience, so it's a no thanks from me. But I would recommend it to others that have not been.
10th is now in the diary.

Cheers

Nick

Hi folks

More on this again.

I contacted MB world about tours and a private tour would cost £4-5 pp to setup (depending
on numbers and time).

The tour lasts about 60-75 mins approx and goes through their collection.

The alternative is just turn up and wander around ourselves.

Who would be interested in the tour?

Thanks!

Shame. I let my membership lapse years ago as I couldn't see a lot of benefit in it.

Personally, I think actually owning a TVR is a better mark of worthiness to attend, but never mind. smile

Its in the ROI, mate biggrin

Can't do everything for nothing. whistle

Some events I open to everyone, but the more unique ones I keep club only, simply
so people are seeing something for their money.

...and no, I'm not looking to make this a club worth money thread. If people would
like to comment on that, please see the Cerb evaluation article thread and add the
comments there biggrin

I do it because I enjoy it, not because I want to get into club vrs. non-club "stuff".

Yes, quite. Which makes my post even worse.

I will quietly depart in embarrassment now. getmecoat
