The route will take in many of the same tunnels (we aren't exactly spoilt for choice) but will be a different route linking them together and will take in landmarks and also some tunnels not on last year's run

Said numpty then checks and writes out the instructions, with a map, printed directions and Tom Tom way points, and hands them out at the start on Sunday 12th May, or the day before by email.

Nutters from all over the southern half of the UK then congregate in their TVRs in the early hours of said Sunday morning (circa 6 am), bringing their mates, wives, girlfriends with them to read the directions as they drive, if possible.

The run starts from a large public car park with a bacon sarnie and tea/coffee van, and ends up at a large public car park with a loo. Both large car parks, as there will be around 100 of us nutters. Both photo-opportunities.

Two to three hours driving, as it is all at low speed due to speed cameras and limits.

The trick is for the route to go through as many of the tunnels of London, and over as many central bridges, and around as many famous London photo-opportunities as possible. The art is to make as much noise as you can in the tunnels, enjoy others making as much noise as possible, and vow to buy a noisier exhaust before the next time. You also get to ogle virtually every model of TVR made since about 1980.

Those who still have energy left then get back into their cars and toddle over to Brooklands (just inside the M25), pay their entry fee, park up on the historic banking, and enjoy TVR Car Clubs Day at Brooklands - more photo-opportunities, and possibly a chance to join in if I can negotiate one.

This is going to be fun. The missus reckons she good at map reading, but im not to sure, so better get that tom tom, cos if we rely solely on the map then god know where we will end up. Think we will stay over in a hotel so we get extra sleep.

I tried to make the start an hour later, but got (democratically) outvoted.
To be fair, the clearest roads are at first sparrow fart, and we don't want to spend hours sitting in queues with our aching left feet on our clutch pedals inching forward another five yards every 90 seconds.....do we?

I am hoping to avoid some of the getting lost this time by handing out:
Tomtom way points
A map, with the route drawn on it
Printed, turn by turn, directions for the entire route, cross referenced to the map

The start will NOT be under Canary Wharf.

There will be a pee, chat and ogle stop at Battersea park, as last time, which will be mid-morning after the bulk of the central London part of the run - there simply isn't a better place for it as far as i can see

Garmin ones would be nice too!

I want to do it just to say that I got up that time a day ' for a blast in me Tiv' people think I'm nad now?!!?

I used to drive my dear old Jag XJ6 4.2, 1980, down the Motorway really early to work on Monday's, bloody greatest part of me week! The sound sort of reverbs off the barriers on empty motorway, I used to smile away like a lemon! I've got to come down to this event, just brill.
