LG plasma tv suddenly showing "xd on xd off" on screen?

Watching tv tonight and the tv screen suddenly split into two vertically,both sides just like normal picture but colours over the top?One side of the screen at the top has "xd on",other side of the screen at the top has "xd off".I can't change channels,enter menu etc,tv switches on and off though,tv is just over a year old,anyone any ideas,cheers!

Sounds like some sort of demo mode has been switched on. What model?

Have you got access to the manual?

42 inch LGPQ6000 plasma,can't find the sodding manual cd.Misses sitting on the sofa looking guilty,but she swears she never touched anything,have to take her word for it!;)

From the online manual (which isn't very clear)...



It looks like you have to press 7,7,7,7 on the remote to exit the 'System Lock'.

I cant use 'any' buttons on remote nevermind the 7 button,only function on remote that works is the on/off button.Can't get any menus at all.Screen is just the same all the time with this XD ON XD OFF written on it?

In that case the best bet would be to phone the shop you bought the TV from and ask them how to exit from the Demo screen.

And tell the Missus not to play with the Remote again!

Got a nice supportive email from LG customer services today
"Thank you for your email to LG support,

Unfortunately this would indicate that you have a fault with your television which we would like to apologise for. We would recommend that you contact a local repairer to resolve this fault.

Anyone has a way out for this. Please help.
