I've had my Kef 1005.2 surround system for over a year now, this came with the kube 1 Kef sub.

I'm in the mood for a bit of upgrading to the system and have a budget of around £300 to play with.

I was thinking of upgrading to a BK xls 200 sub as I've never really got on with the Kef and wondered if it was going to provide a noticeable difference or am I better off looking at a centre speaker or whatever?

Any opinions?

I've never seen a bad review of a BK sub. The problem is whether the sub is better than the rest of the speakers, making the purchase pointless. How good is the set-up you have?

You other option is to pop it on ebay and put the 300 to the proceeds of the sale and get a new system?

Hmm, quite happy with the set up and the Kef eggs are about as much as I'll get away with in the lounge with out SWMBO issues. (Bloody floorstandars are still in the loft, apparently black ash is out) hehe

Two questions really

1. Is there such a marked difference between the BK and the Kef?

2. Will the BK show up or compliment the eggs?

Haven't got any experience of either to compare sorry. My advice, find a shop that sells BK and demo it with your kit, or post the question on one of the hi-fi forums.
