Chaps,

Have a Pronto 9600 which connects to the Philips Serial Extender and controls Sky, Squeezeboxes etc.

It occassionally gives "command failed" messages, which in the diagnostics tend to be "unable to find extender at 192.168.0.100".

Recently it has been doing this more often - coinciding with changing the BT HomeHub for a new one to work with Infinity.

The Homehub is the DHCP server for the network. The Pronto connects wirelessly through a Cisco AP, which is then wired into a switch, which the HomeHub also connects to.

Currently the Pronto is working intermittently. More often than not, you get "command failed" with the above error for the first few attempts, then it will work, then not again a minute or two later.

I don't know the MAC address of the Extender to check the IP address it has - it isn't listed on the box. Even when it is the only thing plugged into the Homehub it isn't listed in the attached devices, so I can't set a static IP for it. The fact that it works intermittently is confusing.

So, any experts on here able to help me out?
