Hi,

After a bit of help people.

I'll set the scene, living room with a 37in LCD (dont want the tv to be the feature of the room, hence smaller size), plus large room which will be converted to proper cinema room (Projector, carpeted walls etc) when the funds come through (After ive bought my next car which is more important!!).

Obviously when complete, gaming and all movie watching will take place in home cinema, so dont really want to spend much on set up for living room.

Room is very chic, dont want speakers mounted on the wall, or dont really want tall ground standing speakers.

Is it a viable option to fit speakers into the ceiling. Or would you just recommend a 2.1 system, already have a Blu ray player, so will just need a standard DVD system, and i can connect sound up by optical.

If so, can i get anything decent for £100-150.

Thanks in advance.

You can put full 5.1 arrays in the ceiling and whilst they're not as good as speakers in the right place they produce a good sound.

However you wouldn't be able to do this at your budget.

almost bought this recently - probably still will but something else took my gadget budget. more pricey than you were looking for but as small as speakers get:

what about a speaker 'bar' under you TV?

Thanks for the help chaps, not a fan of the sound bars really.

Think i'll head down to a store and try a couple 2.1 systems out. Or may have to spend some more money.

I just got this to go with my Pan 50"

Seemless to use, easy to fit, great bass and a massive step up from the tv - uses optical out on tv

Downer is you have a separate remote for audio
