31 year old cassette... poss. to improve it electronically?
Discussion
As per the subject really - I have a cassette I recorded off air (FM) 31 years ago.
Tape deck azimuth was out - I have corrected that for playback purposes. (Playing back on a more modern deck).
Overall the sound quality isn't that bad - just a bit limited at the extremes - is there any 'auto magic' software I could run it through to enhance it?
TIA.
You can't add something that wasn't there in the first place.
Fiddling with the eq may supress some unwanted frequencies and bring forward others, but a flat transfer usually works best. If your amp has tone controls, they'll do a neater job than an equaliser and the effects are reversible.
