Laptop picture to TV - what do I need?
Discussion
Hi guys
I want to get the picture from my laptop screen to appear on my TV. I live in Dubai so the local TV isn't great. I'll be watching shows via iplayer etc and would like to get the picture onto my tv rather than just watching on my computer screen.
The laptop is a fairly basic Dell Latitude D630 so no fancy video out connections. The TV is a fairly modern Panasonic with RCA and HDMI inputs.
Any advice on the connections/converters that I'll need.
Cheers

If your TV & laptop have a VGA (15 pin D monitor) connector then use that, get your self a longish cable, job done and by far the best way.
You will also need an audio cable if you want the sound through the TV speakers, either 3.5mm mini-jack to mini-jack or to RCA Phono.

It does have a VGA connector. So, I need a cable with VGA on one end and RCA on the other - simple as that?Edited by cjs on Wednesday 1st September 08:38
