TV advice please

For a friend, they are looking tomove from a CRT to either LCD or LED. Up to 40", up to £1000 and the sound must be good.

Any suggestions?

Panasonic plasma.

My folks have a 37" one, and I have a 50", both excellent. FAR better than any LCD.

Pros and cons, but with that sort of spend then I'd say Plasma, especially if coming from a CRT.
