Well I'll have to eat humble pie....

Everyone that said Samsung TV's were crap.... Wellll....

First one died after a month. The replacement has just started to strobe / flicker when first turned on. Seems to clear up after the TV has been on a while. Mostly !

So a couple of questions.

1) Does the guarantee run from when I recieved the new replacement ? If it does I still have a month left.

2) If I report the fault now but the service centre cannot find it ( it is intermittant and in my experience unless the fault smacks them in the chops ...) then it gets worse will they still honour the guarantee ?

TV was only £450 ( £350 now ! ) but I still expected it to last more than a year !

Back to Panasonic / Sony etc next time !

Guarantees run from the date you bought the first one.

You could still consider taking action under Sale of Goods act, which gives you 6 years n England and Wales and 5 in Scotland. A modern telly should last more than a year!

Contact them, even if the warranty only runs from purchase of the original the replacement is still new enough you are disappointed it is faulty. I'd approach Samsung Uk though as 2 dodgy TV's is enough to convince you not to buy any more Samsung products. Hell you came on here to complain so a good job of sorting the problem by Samsung is required.

Good news. Spoken to Comet and they say the TV is still under Guarantee. Engineer coming on Saturday

Good result, if it hadn't been you could have tried the 2 year EU route as well as well as the afore mentioned sale of goods act. (worked with me on a faulty 18 month Samsung 52" from Currys)

Buy from John Lewis - They price match and have 5 years guarantee on TVs.
