Thought this would get a better response from the tecchies here than the Boats Trains & Planes forum.

I have a small motor cruiser and would like to have a small TV on board (12" 12V LCD) for the darkening evenings. However reception is going to be a problem as rivers are low down!

Glomex make an omnidirectional aerial that looks very smart (a bit like a radar in fact!) but I have no way of knowing whether that or any other design is actually going to work. What do you suggest, or is is pointless trying?

Ive put a few TV's in Canal boats, usually terrestrial reception is a pain, most people usualy go for a SKY/Freesat system with the dish on a tripod next to where the boat is moored. Once you have the nack of aligning the dish it normally takes you less than 20 secs to do it wink

Thanks Headcase, I'd seen them around. Would prefer a built-in system rather than stumbling about after dark in a field full of cow-poo but maybe it's the only way...
