I have some old footage of family from a Sony DV camcorder which I am trying to put onto DVD.
I have put the footage onto my PC in mpg format and used DVD Flick to put it onto a dvd. The disc plays fine on my pc and is fine on my daughters old sony tv and basic/cheap DVD player. When I play it on my Panasonic BD80 Blueray onto my Pioneer Kuro PDP LX5090, the picture is very jittery on panning footage. I also have an old Pionner DVD player still connected up to the Pioneer tv and the same thing happens. Is it the Pioneer TV thats 'to good' for it? Both these are running through a Yamaha DSP A2 amp.
Help?

Am I right in assuming that ordinary UK (PAL) DVDs playback OK on your setup? If so then I'm wondering if you've created a 60Hz DVD and your TV is performing 'reverse telecine' to 24p with this signal? This would create juddering as you'd be playing a 60Hz source at 24Hz which means a frame or two get cut every second.
If so you can either re-author the disc (and I wouldn't bother trying another type of disc particularly as the current one plays, just not how you'd like) or check the settings on the TV (not 100% but it might be called 'Cinema' mode or something or perhaps 72p mentioned in the menu). Just be aware that next time you watch a 24p BluRay you might have to change the TV setting again otherwise it will look juddery for a different reason...
