Hi all, recently purchased a projector and have also just bought a 120" screen to go with it. The problem i have is i have a plasma mounted to the wall and want the screen to come down in front of it and obviously not be fouled when it scrolls down. The mounts i have with the screen are either for a ceiling or for it to be fixed directly to the wall. I need for the screen to prutrude at least 25cm away from the wall for it to clear the plasma... So has anyone got any cheap but effective ideas for this kind of mount?!

Thanks in advance
Andy

Use shelf brackets, or hang from ceiling.

Think it might be too heavy for the ceiling, it's bloody massive!...

Have found some shelf brackets in homebase that have done the job nicely thanks for the suggests!!

Wooden block, cut yourself a couple, screw them securly to the wall (paint them the same colour or wrap with upvc then afix your screen to said wooden blocks.

I've got my screen fixed to the ceiling. It's a heavy one too as it's electric and approx 10' wide. All you need to do is locate the ceiling joists to screw into, or failing that fix some plywood 'pads' to the ceiling using the joists and then fix the screen to the plywood to spread the load, as I've done myself. For added neatness, I built a pelmet out of MDF, which I painted the same colour as the surrouding wall and put the plaster coving across it too. It's less obvious when the projector isn't in use IMHO.

As long as you hit the joists you'll be fine with it on the ceiling.
