Is my (old) plasma worth anything?
Discussion
I have a Panasonic 42" plasma telly. I bought it in 2004/2005 (can't remember which) for an eye watering £3,000.
It is still as good as it was new, but is nowhere near as good as new sets nowadays. It is not even HD-ready!
It weighs a ton, but still looks/sounds good!
Is it worth anything? I was considering giving it away to a local charity when I have got my new one.

It's worth something for sure, but can't imagine many people wanting a non-HD plasma! £75?It is still as good as it was new, but is nowhere near as good as new sets nowadays. It is not even HD-ready!

Thanks for the offers to take it off my hands, but I had already decided if it was worth <£100 I would give it to the local charity.
Charity shops generally cant resell donated electrical goods these days, due to H and S electrical safety. The TV will end up going to someone who works at the shop (who will hopefully make a donation for it), or if the shop has the time/inclination/computer skills to do so they will sell the TV on ebay and the funds used as a donation...Thanks for the offers to take it off my hands, but I had already decided if it was worth <£100 I would give it to the local charity.
We have links to a local cancer charity shop, anytime anything electrical is donated the manager offers it out in exchange for a cash donation. I have a few 'retro' games consoles as a result.
For what its worth I sold a Sony plasma of similar age to yours about six months ago, a 480P technology screen. I got £200 on ebay for it.

Thanks, but I wasn't going to give it to a charity shop, but to a local charity (a wildlife rescue/education centre, they do a lot of work with schools and so a large screen in their classroom might be of help).Having said that, if it is worth >£100, I might sell it myself
This person thinks it is worth £250 though
