I wasn't aware that any of the terrestrial broadcasters did proper HD i.e 720p 50HZ etc. Happy to be proven wrong, last time I used iPlayer was a while ago and there was no high quality option there, and I could definitely see it was of a lower quality than 720p torrents of BBCHD shows I've seen.
I don't stream that much as I watch mainly HD content from a ext. HD.
Trying to stream Hi Def is a pain for me because of slow buffering.
It works, obviously, but try and ffw or rwd and you'll see what I mean.PITA.
Both C4 and ITV use their own software (ITV silverlight?) so you won't be able to play them.
Apologies if I misled anyone...

OK haha.
With a Sony Playstation you can play DVD and Blu-Ray discs.
If you have an external hard drive you can fill it with downloaded movies
from your pc,plug into your PS3 and play on your flatscreen via HDMI.
If you have a router you can play anything on your tv from your pc via the PS3.(streaming)
PS3 will also connect to the net and has a hard drive of its own,so you can copy/download all types of files.
Oh...and you can also play games on it!
