I'd say yes to that.
I have had a few cables connecting things and the 'Monster' cable I have is noticeably better.
Would have cost around £50 IIRC but was thrown in with the set at store.
'noticeably better' in what respect?I have had a few cables connecting things and the 'Monster' cable I have is noticeably better.

It's human nature.
There's been about a billion blind tests done by every AV magazine and website which all show it to be bks.

Look how much you can save!

No there haven't.It depends on length as much as anything.
There is an observable difference in the fish eye pattern over certain lengths at different qualities.
So any AV magazine that makes such an assertion is not only technically inept but also lazy. Which is possibly the reason they favour displays and components that are known industry wide to be somewhat less than stellar.
Yep with you on that one.
Ran two identical screens showing two identical feeds down different wires.
Was allowed to tweak the displays i.e. make sure that the contrast/colour/white balance etc were the same.
Even swap the leads over.
You could see the difference in picture clarity and colour depth.
Screens were Pioneer Kuro (sp?) feed by a panasonic blu-ray.
Did I buy the more expensive, non-free lead? Nope as to me it wasn't worth the £50 premium over the 'free' leads.
Did I buy the extra Monster lead I needed - yes - it was worth the premium of £30 over the lower priced leads.
Can I now use that in the application I want to? No - it doesn't fit the space. Hence the question.
Plotloss - I went in the end for some Carlsonn elbow joints - mid price with decent specs on the build sheet. Wise choice?
Cheers

Right-angle cable... http://www.thatcable.com/acatalog/info-HDMi-cable-...
I've bought from them before and found the 1.5m standard HDMI cable to be fine (the 5 quid one).

Sounds like BS to me You might get interference, picture break-up or wrong coloured pixels I but can't believe you would get subtle changes to clarity and colour depth, that just shouldn't be possible with an HDMI cable. If you are going to get interference from a poor quality cable it'll effect all the bits randomly not just the least significant ones which would manifest themselves in subtle tone changes.Ran two identical screens showing two identical feeds down different wires.

How long were these cables?
It might be worth paying a bit extra for a cable that doesn't fall to bits, but the concept of paying extra for a cable that can carry a digital signal better that another is just a load of tripe.
In a retail market where there is little money to be make on selling price competitive big ticket items such as LCD tvs, many retailers rely on bumping up the margin on add ons such as cable to make their money.

Both of them? I have read of..unscrupulous..vendors having wall sockets which the display is wired into for testing.
They would then plug cheap cable A into one wall socket, giving the picture on one display, whilst plugging the expensive cable B into another socket giving a much better picture on a different display.
What they were;t showing was that behind the scenes the wiring between the socket and display the cheap cable was using was a massively long coiled run which was stretching the limits of the signal.
Whereas the expensive cable, showing the better picture, was connected through the wall using a short run direct to the display.
