Damaged HDMI Plug
Discussion
Contrary to the last two posters, I have never heard on an HDMI cable being cut or repaired to order.
The wires inside are very delicate and the terminations aren't just a connection, it is quite complex in there.
Not saying it is absolutely impossible to do, but the chances of doing a bodge job and it working properly are almost none IMHO.
Happy to be proved wrong for your sake, but I am pretty sure Plotty will be along to confirm the same.

You could try cutting the end off. Get a spare cable and cut an end off, then very carfully solder the bare wires together. I've done this on damaged CAT5 cables before and it works fine.
Have done this several times and I will say its a ballache todo but as long as you meter out the lead to make sure you have all of the pins in the correct order and you keep the twisted pairs as close to twisted as you can at the join then it should work fine. I normally hollow out one of these http://cpc.farnell.com/_/1923/pvc-flex-connector-3... and use the casing to conseal the joint.Gassing Station | Home Cinema & Hi-Fi | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
