Replacement bedroom telly - around 25 inch / £250
Discussion
Shoot me down but the search facility is dreadful (imho) and I went back 10 pages to no avail.
The bedroom telly is shot, and at 14 inches it was always a bit small. Can someone help me with suggestions for a good replacement.
I'm leaning towards about 25 inches, the best kit for the money, circa £250. With the World Cup on its way I'm hoping for some promotions and deals to be offered, but I'm happy to have last years model if it's sufficiently reduced as I imagine at that screen size and limited use I'm not going to need all the bells and whistles (She can watch Sex and the City without 3D and still wag her tail).
Kindest regards,

Or similar.
I don't really want to spend more than £250ish, quite like Richer Sound's cheap guarantee, but wonder whether it is worth paying for 1080 for a small set that'll mostly be used for just "watching the telly" (with the odd bit of banished-to-the-bedroom footie and F1/BTCC). The feed to the bedroom is through the cheapest of cables and a fairly poor aerial and reception is often medium to poor, anyway.
Any further comment or thoughts?

Definitely forget about 1080, it's pointless at the best of times, but especially at this size.
I'm gonna stick with my initial recommendation, with the idea of sacrificing the size slightly to get a quality set, rather than sacrificing quality for sake of the biggest set to fit you budget.
All in my opinion of course, you could be lying much further from your set than I am of mine.

A friend of mine recently bought a Foehn & Hirsch from ebuyer.com. £220 for a 26"lcd. looks alot like a Samsung in design. Its built on freeview looks pretty damn good. Its contrast ratio isn't very high but, for a bedroom TV it's a steal. My parents have a phillips in their bedroom, its scaler does an awful job with the freeview. The foehn pic quality looks way better. Check out the purchaser reviews on ebuyer. Oh yeh, there's even a 3year warranty.

The P2370 is obviously the 23" if you want it a bit bigger.
Ignore the Samsung haters, at this size it really won't matter if it is the worlds best quality TBH, I doubt you'd notice it. I presume it is going in your bedroom, not as a main Blu Ray running home theatre centre piece!
