I'm in the market for some noise cancelling or isolating earbuds but I found out last time it's a bit of a minefield. I bought these from Amazon as they were cheap and got good reviews http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0009G6FQI/ref=... but found out to my cost cheap isn't good. They don't fit and keep falling out, and when they do fit they don't block any noise out, plus they sound utterly st. I'm not anal about sound quality but I want something to sound good like the standard iPod headphones do.

I want them for driving the van which has a really noisy diesel, transmission whine and a good bit of banging and clattering from the stuff inside for good measure. This is where I'm unsure if noise isolating or noise cancelling would be best? And then what would people recommend? Max budget is around £50.

Many thanks in advance.

Sony grooves are really good (or used to be).

Personally I dont think depriving yourself of one of your senses whilst driving is such a good idea

In budget and I would recommend these, work great in the VX for long journeys with music playing. Ipod volume can be set really low and still hear it all clearly.

Thanks for the replies guys... I've just bought the Sennheisers. They seem to get a lot of good reviews apart from build quality which isn't an issue when I wont use them all that often.
