I have a Sony Bravia KDL32V5500U, a PS3, a Netbook, a D-Link wireless router and a USB external HDD.
Can I set this up to use the network function of the TV to stream movies/songs from any of my other toys??

Download and install PS3 media server onto your netbook (Does your netbook have a LAN socket, or is it wireless only? - LAN>Wifi) Connect the HDD to your netbook...
Your TV (and PS3 but if the TV is DNLA enabled, you don't need the PS3) will see the media on the Netbook/USB HDD and you will be able to stream stuff...
