Has anyone else had dealings with Cyrus?

I spoke to them a month ago about a recurring problem with my amplifier (it's been back 3 times to them). Despite promising to investigate and call me back, nothing happened for a month so I called them back today.

The guy I spoke to (the same one I spoke to a month ago pretending to not remember) claimed there was probably nothing wrong with my amp and it would cost me £180 for them to even audition it.

Considering I really like the amp, apart from the ste reliability, it's put me in a quandry. I'm actually really upset that a company trumpeting themselves as 'enthusiasts' are so damned unhelpful, but I really would like it sorting.

Have you tried going through your local dealer? I had a problem with one of my amps and my dealer sent it to Cyrus at no cost to me for diagnosis. Once that came through I paid the repair bill and they shipped it back, again at no cost.

The point is that they diagnosed the problem for me with no costs involved. Maybe this is only done for units sent back via a dealer. Oh - I didn't buy the faulty amp from the dealer that sent it back either....

Good luck, hope you get it sorted.

I have been dealing direct with Chris Sansby at Cyrus as my amp was overheating. He arranged for it to be picked up and it has been with them for over two weeks now. Not too much of a problem as I am using the spare amp.

Which model is it?

I find Cyrus generally good when speaking to the engineers. I'm still annoyed that they made two such st AV products as the AV Master 8.0 and DiscMaster 8.0 and that I bought them. The rest of my Cyrus kit is great.

It's an 8 integrated. I find it incredibly frustrating in that when it's on form, it sounds terrific.

Unfortunately my nearest dealer is 50 miles away and my experience with them last time wasn't stunning.

I'd suggest a polite letter to Peter Bartlett, the CEO. He replied when I complained.

maybe that's the answer: 10ps, have you been playing Miley or Billy-Ray on your Cyrus 8?

Certainly not.

I mean it.

I even avoid Cypress Hill, just in case.
