First off I will list my AV set up as it's relevant to my question..

TV Panasonic TX-P42V10

SKY HD Amstrad DRX 780

AV Receiver Onkyo TX-SR607

I would like to know if there is anyway I can improve the SD PQ from the HD box?

At the moment I have RGB enabled in the Sky box and a high quality QED scart to the TV

I have Freeview and Freesat enabled with a 3rd cable off the Sky dish and an Ariel on the roof.

The SD PQ off the Sky box through the scart is the same as the freesat and freeview. SD over HDMI is the usual problem with the HD box.

I thought about sourcing a Thompson box and having it re-conditioned. Could I then do component to the Onkyo ( would this improve anything? ) and then HDMI or component to the Panny?

Cheers

I have HDMI from HD box to amp with Optical for sound.

I have SCART to TV from HD box for SD.

The SD PQ over HDMI from the Sky HD box is not good.. This is a well known issue on the boxes.

Is it one of the boxes with component? If so that would be my prefaired connection method. If not then swap out the box for one that dosent have this as a well known problem, use one of the ones that has a duff PSU as a known problem instead wink
