Looking at getting a 37'' LED/LCD TV ready to see us knocked out in the Quarter Finals...

I want a 37'' (although I have read that 40'' screens by Sony and Samsung or better than the 37'' ones) TV that offers me the most up to date technology that won't be outdated instantly. Budget up to £800 and open to 40'' TV if there is a geniune quality difference between 37'' & 40''

After buying What Hi magazine yesterday and looking at their suggestions I narrowed it down to their top 2 37'' options being the Samsung LE37B550 5* (rated 2.2010) and the Sony KDL-37W5500 5* (rated 07.2009). I havent the understanding to investigate other options however I have seen the following TV's up for grabs. Are these just updated versions of the above or better options

Sony Bravia KDL37EX403U 37-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p LCD TV with Freeview HD
LG 37LE5300 37-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p LED TV ,100Hz with Freeview
Samsung LE37C650 37 - inch Internet TV with 100Hz FreeviewHD

edit: The salesman said that Panasonic's are only brought by homosexuals, priests and Liberal Democrats. Is this true?

you're unlikely to get a reply unless it's advice on a Panasonic you're after biggrin

There's a good reason for that.

You can get a 42" (insert well favoured brand of Plasma TV, model number P42G20...) for £50 less than that 37" Samthing telly....

You need to have a serious word with the room if that's it's attitude!

You wouldn't believe the way it looked at me when the Election result was announced. ''Piffle'' it said from its weep vent

That's a sad indictment of the falling standards of rooms today.

Hmm how about a bit of lube for the room, may be able to then squeeze in another 5 inches!

It's mortar joints have shirked at that option, followed another look. The look John Prescott gives to his dropped trout down the other John

Shame you didn't go for the Panasonic 37" plasma. I bought one for my folks, it's quite special compared to just about any LCD in the same price range.
