Assuming the worst on my other thread, I may need a new TV. I have access to some good deals on Samsungs, across the range and all types

I am looking for 42" and upwards - should I be looking at their plasmas, LED's, or LCD's?

I do not have a surround system so will be relying on the TV speakers

Your Hitachi had a 1024x 512 x2 resolution....a bit weird at the time! Nearest with Freeview HD built in would be a Pana 42S20 ...Would be my choice! 5 year warranty from indie dealers also!

I follow this love of Panasonic with great interest because, to date, I can tell little to no difference between a Panasonic set vs. Samsung LED set. I am no expert but I swear 90% of those blindly recommending a Panasonic are doing so because AV Forums, etc are awash with people saying how great they are having read a single review (as opposed to owning them).

NB - this is not intended to ruffle the feathers of those who clearly know their stuff - you know who you are!
