freesat hd can you use satellite feed?
Discussion
Hi I have just bought a sony 40ex503 which has freeview hd tuner (Not freesat) . Can I feed this tuner from a sky satellite dish or the rear of a sky box - rf out, as I have no terrestrial aerial? also will this give me all the freeview channels or do I have to bite the bullet and by a freesat tuner ( I dont want a sky subscription)
Thanks for your help in advance.

No. The RF out connection on the sky box will only be broadcasting what the skybox is currently showing if you have no terrestrial aerial. Thanks for your help in advance.
To get freeview you will need a terrestrial aerial.
To get freesat you will need a satellite dish.
The RF output of the skybox will only broadcast the freeview signals if it is receiving them in the first place, It acts as a combiner - Combining the Terrestrial signals coming into the box through your aerial (Aerial In socket) with what the skybox is showing after modulating the skybox output to an RF channel.
