Can anyone recommend a centrally based TV showroom in London where I can view the latest crop of 46-50" LCD/LED/Plasma TVs? I find the Currys/Comet environment frustrating (the sales staff generally know nothing) and the showroom lighting and often inconsistent signal quality to their sets to be off putting.

Whilst I have read all the praise for the current crop of Panasonic sets I do find one or two decent internet reviews suddenly spread like wildfire and then even people who've never viewed the sets are recommending them!!! I'd rather see for myself (at the weekend I struggled to tell the difference between the Panasonic G20 and a Samsung 6000 series LED TV).

Not interested in 3D.

Anyone recommend anywhere, please?

John Lewis Oxford Street for starters. I dont normally frequent Tottenham Ct Rd but there will be plenty on display there too.

Thanks Digger. Are John Lewis sales staff generally a bit more informed than the Currys/Comet lot?

Yep most definitely. I'll be there later looking at the two 3d sets they have so will see if they know their beans! (Is that a phrase?)

I know you say your not interested in 3D but if / when you go to JL take a look at the 3D 50" Panny box on the back wall. Quite impressive tbh. Much easier to view thatn the flickery Samsung (IIRC) at tthe top of the escalators!

Agreed you cant really go wrong with a Panasonic plasma these days!
