Hi,

If I run mains and A/V cables in the same piece of trunking, will there be interference?

One piece of trunking has:
2 x Mains
3 x HDMI cables
1 x TV RF lead
2 x surround speaker cables
1 x Wii sensor bar
1 x RGB component
1 x s-video

If this is a bad idea, is there anything I can do to isolate the mains from the AV e.g. foil screen?

Gary, Theoretically, it's not ideal. HOwever, in reality noone wants multiple trunkings up their wall, so I've done it loads of times. You can spot graining of an S video signal, less on a god component. I _think_ HDMi would be fine, but I stopped installing screens regularly about 4 years before HDMi arrived (so don't take that part as gospel!)

Why do you need so many cables, especially the HDMIs?

I would think of another way of routing it.

The other thing is that thickness of cable is pretty big. Trunking that size is going to be seriously thick anyway. You could just have two smaller trunks with probably less hassle and less deep chasing out of the wall.

And.... you could have the mains and signal cables in separate trunks.... wink

I have one each HDMIs from Sky and DVD, and another that goes into the ceiling space for a projector.

The walls are old cinder block crap that I want to avoid chasing at all costs, so I'm using the D-shaped trunking stuck on top of the wall. It's not pretty but its the best I can do.
