Help with a Stereo (Kenwood)
Discussion
OK, I have been given a stereo system by my uncle. I am wondering what to do with it as I do not really need a whole new stereo and this thing is rather large once all the peices are stacked up together.
These are the parts included:
All Kenwood
X-85 Cassette Deck
T-85L Tuner
DP-950 CD player
GE-850 Graphic equaliser
P-66 Turntable
A-85 Amplifier
LS-85 Speaker System
It seems like a fairly good system, is it worth anything? Or should I just flog it to a mate for a few quid?

Right, I'll have a go. I think that's is a Midi system (slightly narrower [12"ish] than normal hifi separates [17"ish]) from around the mid 90's, probably called the M-85 going by the components you list.
Most of the components will share power so can't really be sold separately, with the exception of the Graphic Equalizer and CD player, which probably have their own mains plugs. The amp (and possibly the tunner) will also plug into the mains with the Cassette deck and turntable likely getting power from Amp/ tunner. there is also likely to be a load of other cables between all the units (in addition to the aidio cables) which send control signals back and forth, so when you press play on the CD player the amp will change the input to 'CD'. The problem with selling something like this is P&P as it's huge and only worth about £40-60, so you'll have to rely on someone local buying it.
That said it was probably near £800 new (maybe more) so probably a pretty decent sound. Kenwood stuff was well made and sounded good as a rule.
