Morning all,

I'm looking for a dock to stick my iPhone in that lets me control it by remote control, and will output the audio to run through a B&O system.

Have seen the Pure (i10?) one but it doesn't say it is iPhone compatible.

Any thoughts?

There is a brilliant little one from Philips that I try to use for clients. Although it is becoming harder and harder to find.

The Philips SJM3151 is a fully working ipod dock, but the remote is RF and it has fulll tow way communications with the base station to be able to surf through the menu screens of the ipod.

http://www.pure.com/products/accessory.asp?Product... - says/shows what Apple products it is compatible with, looks like the full gamut from the quick glance I took.

To add, Apple do a little box that you can wire to your B&O (or any other rca input) and it connects to your network if you don't have a laptop, so you can use your phone as the remote. I don't know anymore details than that, a mate has one which he showed me. tongue out

Airport Express.

As with anything Apple it is absolutely effortless and utilises your existing stereo. Just add the Remote App for iPhone/iPod Touch. You can then access your iTunes library remotely.

Also download Mocha VNC lite and Wake On Oui (Other wake on lan apps are available) and you can control your computer (i.e. Wake up/Put to Sleep) all from your iPhone.

If you want music in different rooms then add more Airport Express and you can change which speakers you want sound from via the iPhone.

Plus you'll always have your phone with you so if it rings you don't have to get up...

Can't see iPhone on there sadly. This doesn't seem like that big of a deal until all those horrible ditditdit noises start blasting out of your speakers.

What connection is the B&O system? I use an Apple Universal Dock connected to my computer speakers by 3.5mm jack. It comes with the little Apple Remote, and its fine for playing music from the iPhone when I don't have the Mac on to run iTunes.

iPhone and iPod Touch share same dock mould for their respective generations, so you're covered there.

Thanks for the replies chaps - have ordered the i10 and the right cable for the B&O system, £40 all in.

Will report back once it has arrived.

I hope it works for you. I think it specifically needs GSM shielding to avoid interference, if it hasn't got this you might very well find you get some very annoying noises through your speakers.

You can of course switch to flight mode if you want to listen to music - but personally I don't want to turn my phone off whenever I put some tunes on!

My official apple pod dock whinges about this, but is fine.
