Can S-Video be converted to composite by a simple mini DIN to RCA converter? I have one in my hand: but Im far from convinced that simply joining the chrominance and luminance and grounds together will work properly...

Opinions/experience? Thanks.

Yes it can, but it won't work the other way round. smile Though the bigger question should be why are you using composite as it's the worst form of video connection...if you have an S-Video source you should be able to connect it to most displays (maybe have to use an S-Video to scart and use the scart socket that accepts S-Video as sometimes only one socket will and the other is for RGB or composite).

Thank you. The reason is that the hardware MPEG2 compression card (PVR350) that Im using only has a sep-vid input: and the lower quality source that I wanted to record only supports composite.
