I have the B&W MT-25 with my 1910 it was either those or the Kef eggs around the same price. They are obviously alot more than the budget you posted. I don't think there is any point in scrimping on the speakers as they translate the amp into what you hear.

You could of course just add rears, centres and a sub-woofer to your existing set up and get better speakers for the same money.

I used a local shop and they set up various combos for me to listen to buy what makes your ears happy for your budget.

Ooh those look nice. Plotters how do the sound from those compare to more conventional speakers? I'm thinking of building a system around some white Q Acoustics 2020 speakers, I'm wondering if these in white might be a better option.

Whatever you get try to make sure the front three speakers match very closely (and the surrounds if possible, though less critical IMHO). There's nothing worse than sound effects than 'shrink' as they pass through the centre and out the other side they sound 'full' again do to a small/different centre. Also a small centre can make dialogue harder to hear if it's overpowered by non matching left and rights.

Might be above budget but have a look at the relaunched M&K speakers. Even buying three for the fornt plus two small cheapies for surrounds will give a better result than 'lifestyle' type speakers IMHO.

The smaller M5 models as shown on this link (also available in white), plus you could get the M4 KKT surrounds later on (or look for some used K4 tripoles, which was the old model, on AVForums classifieds as they sometimes come up very cheap). I use K4 and K5 as surrounds in my 7.1 setup, despite having much more pricey PMC speakers at the front, so they'll outlast the 1910 probably.
